You will serve as an INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST GS-09 in the Supply/Logistics Department of MARITIME EXPEDITIONARY SECURITY GRP 2.

Duties

You will possess broad knowledge of Navy logistics management and inventory management guidelines and processes to manage civilian and military staff in ordering, issue, receipt/inventor and storage. You will resolve a wide variety of issues and problems requiring research, analysis, adaption of guidelines and understand how to put into practice Navy, NECC and MESG 2’s instructions and policies. You will be responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating and the movement of command assets while reviewing the work of various shipping entities. You will ensure cyclic warehouse and inventory functions are properly completed, specifically monthly and receipt/issuing inventories. You will review periodic physical inventories for all warehouses and all stock, specifically including monthly spot-checks and 100% annual physical inventories.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • The employee must also sign a conflict-of-interest non-disclosure agreement.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a MESG 2 command-issued Forklift License.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and possess Broad knowledge of Navy logistics management and inventory management guidelines and processes to manage civilian and military staff in ordering, issue, receipt/inventory, storage and formal transfer custody to end-user for repair parts etc. Experience and possess expert knowledge of Navy Open Purchase Request (OPR) processes to advise the MESG 2 Logistics Department Head and other logistics stakeholders. Experience and possess expert knowledge of Professional Accountability Program issues and have the demonstrated ability to offer detailed analysis and informed recommendations for the management of Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS). Experience and display an understanding of the material Casualty Report (CASREP) processes to identify and support associated logistics and supply requirements necessary to restore materiel readiness for affected units and systems. Experience in performing moderate-detail data analytics for trend and root cause analyses related to inventory management and accountability in order to predict future trends affecting inventory and to advise MESG 2 leadership for key purchasing decisions. Experience using a personal computer and common Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and the ability to navigate and utilize Accountable Property System of Record databases and search functions to conduct detailed research, coordination/communication and information exchange with MESG 2 leadership, COMNECC staff, product vendors, and other logistics stakeholders. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
