This position is located in the Pipefittimg Shop (56A), Hull Division (TRF-310), Repair Department (TRF-300), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIEREFFAC), Kings Bay, Ga.
Duties
You will follow blueprints, sketches, shop drawings, verbal instructions, templates, or targets as guides to complete piping installations.
You will interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints for location to bore holes in bulkheads, decks, walls, floors, ceilings, or other obstructions to permit passage of pipe.
You will verify compliance with technical directives to successfully perform pipefitting tasks in ship projects.
You will operate welding, cutting, and burning equipment to cut, bend, thread, and assemble pipe fittings.
You will align pipes, valves, fittings, and joints to verify ends match accurately.
You will check all installation assemblies and piping fittings to verify necessary clearances have been allowed.
You will install piping systems for ships or submarines.
You will identify low pressure piping systems to avoid system malfunctions.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Ability to assist journey-level pipefitters with the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
Ability to learn the proper use of tools and shop equipment associated with the pipefitting trade.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and technical specifications to successfully complete assigned tasks.
Ability to possess detailed knowledge of equipment, components, and materials related to pipefitting operations.
Ability to fabricate piping system assemblies by cutting, bending, brazing, and beveling materials as required.
WG-08
Ability to prepare equipment and components for installation in compliance with safety and technical standards.
Ability to apply technical knowledge in the repair and installation of piping systems.
Ability to use various pipefitting tools, such as grinders, brazing torches, measuring instruments, and hydraulic pipe benders, to accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to assist in troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and installing tank level indicators under the supervision of journey-level pipefitters.
Ability to maintain, repair, and test submarine piping systems and components, ensuring operational functionality and compliance with specifications.
