This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Jimmy Carter Library. The incumbent serves as a first line supervisor and the program manager for a variety of public programs and outreach programs administered by the Jimmy Carter Library. This includes planning, scheduling, and conducting public programs, special events, public relations, partnership programs, the Library website, and visitor services to benefit the mission of the Jimmy Carter Library.
Duties
As a PUBLIC PROGRAMS OFFICER, you will:
Plan, schedule, and conduct a variety of formal and informal public programs; promote and advertise these programs which includes special events; disseminates public information and manages public relations.
Oversee staff training on customer service and ensure and sustain the highest level of customer service to all special event guests.
Manage and direct programs that involve and are related to services provided for clients and event guests to the Library special event program.
Manage activities related to, and services provided for, visitors to the Library's museum/exhibit program and for visitors for educational and public programs.
Coordinate all Library activities that promote or describe the Library's operations and services through paid or pro-bono advertising, through media relations, through the website, and through relations with community organizations.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Evaluating organizational programs or events and their effectiveness, as they relate to the organizational goals. To include identifying the appropriate audience, development of content, resource allocation, and funding aspects;
AND
Leading a team or project that includes establishing priorities to meet established deadlines, assigning tasks, measuring progress, and conflict resolution;
AND
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and promote programs and special events.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
