About the Position: Serve as Senior Management Support Specialist supporting 398 Department of the Army (DA)Civilians, Soldiers, and Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) personnel in the Human Resource Management Support Division (HRMS), Deputy Chief of Staff, G-6 (DCS, G6), Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Duties

Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse and complex set of personnel and administrative programs and obtaining and providing a variety of management service support functions essential to the direction and operation of the HRMS Division. Plan and execute personnel and administrative programs supporting two Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) principal agencies, to include management support services which requires an adherence to formal internal and external procedures. Plan and carry out projects and studies to identify and resolve problems pertaining to Civilian Human Resource (HR) program areas. Act as Purchasing Officer to purchase training and services using the Government Purchase Card (GPC). Provide analytical support in the form of spreadsheets, graphics, and word processing. Act as coordinator and subject matter expert for the Automated Time and Attendance Production System (ATAAPs) time keeping system for the organization. Administer the Incentive Awards program. Reviews Incentive, Honorary, and Professional Award nominations and approvals for compliance with regulations and directives.

Managment Support Specialist GS12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing advice on administrative and/or civilian personnel matters; working with management to resolve problems on personnel matters; preparing a variety of correspondence, reports, records, briefing materials, and/or statistical and narrative material; utilizing personnel information management systems such as Automated Time and Attendance Production System (ATAAPS), Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS); Fully Automated System for Classification (FASCLASS); Employee Management, Processing and Recruitment System(EMPRES). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Managment Support Specialist GS13 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing advice on military and civilian personnel regulations and assisting managers and employees with non-technical matters; providing civilian personnel advice and assistance in the areas such as planning, policy development, work methods and procedures; providing guidance and recommendations on manpower utilization, organizational structures, and/or distribution of assignments or similar areas with the objective of improving managerial effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
