You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will review scan results to monitor and evaluate system and network devices for IT cyber security compliance. You will keep cyber tools up-to-date including, but not limited to, signatures and plug-ins and assist with developing signatures to identify indicators of compromise on clients/servers. You will advise end users in the implementation of information technology (IT) strategy, policy and guidance. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to track, remediate, and mitigate findings of non-compliance and develop Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) for non-compliant findings. You will validate, monitor, and coordinate implementation of patches including IA Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), IA Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories; service packs; updates.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. IT related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Investigating existing information technology (IT) systems to identify potential issues. In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Applying Information Assurance (IA) security directives to administer various Automated Information Systems (AIS) and networks; 2) Maintaining deployable cybersecurity audit toolkit (e.g., specialized cyber defense software and hardware scanning system) to support cybersecurity audit missions; 3) Using network security systems to support an organization's IA program. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%.
