This is a Temporary National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position
This National Guard position is for a Contract Specialist, Position Description Number T0046000 and is part of the United States Property and Fiscal Office - Purchasing and Contracting Division, New Jersey Army National Guard.
The purpose is to serve as a Warranted Contracting Officer and to supervise personnel engaged in procuring various supplies, services, information technology, etc.

As a SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST, GS-1102-13, you will:
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: 12 months of broadening contracting experience equivalent to at least GS-1102-12 level that has provided full competencies of contracting principles and procedures that included the following activities:
Contract Termination
Procurement Policies
Contract Administration
Advanced Cost/Price Analysis
Developing and Negotiating Positions
Must have one year of specialized contracting experience at the GS-12 level that required a working knowledge of a wide variety of contracting methods and contract types sufficient to perform pre-award/post-award and/or contract price/cost
analysis. Must have experience performing acquisition planning; contract price and cost analysis/cost accounting techniques, comprehensive negotiation techniques and a working knowledge of statutes and regulations as they apply to procurement functions. Must have Level 1, DAWIA Foundational Certification (or equivalent, see Certifications Issued by Federal (non-DoD) Organizations below). Any applicant selected will receive a tentative offer of appointment contingent upon passing a Contracting Officer Review Board (CORB),and obtaining a contracting warrant.

Education Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant
baccalaureate degrees
Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current DoD employee, in any occupational series, who has served on or before September 30, 2000, as follows: (1) Served as a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT in any Federal agency, OR (2) Served as a military member in a comparable military occupational specialty; OR (B) you are a current member of the armed forces who occupied a position within an occupational specialty similar to the GS-1102 series on or before September 30, 2000.
