Serves as the IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) HQ location. The primary purpose of this position is to manage information resources, business relationships, provide premier Customer Service through the DeCA Global Support Center (GSC) to the DeCA workforce as well as Desktop Common Operating Environment Information Technology (IT) programs in support of DeCA's business mission and goals.
Duties
Provide a variety of services essential to the effective performance of installed systems.-
Monitor the availability and functionality of networks and systems, and detects and reports issues.-
Participate in testing and installing systems modifications and upgrades.-
Provide information and assistance to customers on using installed systems.-
Assist in implementing major system changes.

Requirements

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2210 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.
Experience: Your resume must clearly show that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-07. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Applying IT security principles, methods and procedures.
Monitoring and verifying the integrity of system backups, and identifying and correcting security vulnerabilities in assigned systems.
Installing server upgrades, and monitoring server and network performances.
Applying information technology system designs and architecture principles and concepts..
Troubleshooting network issues and implementing configuration management plans for complex LANs and WANs.
Managing Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) solutions.
Performing computer diagnostics and analyzing network traffic patterns.
Designing, developing, testing and implementing software for less complex programs.
Performing lifecycle replacement on computer equipment.
Managing Enterprise License Agreements (ELA),
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Education
Education may be substituted for experience with a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
OR
a combination of education and experience by the closing date of this announcement.
Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management
OR
Degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

This education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
