You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the PERSONNEL INDUSTRIAL AND INFORMATION SECURITY PROGRAM (83320) of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.
Duties
You will attend the Naval Security Manager's Course within 1 year of appointment to the position and you will obtain and maintain the Security Fundamentals Professional SPeD Certification within 2 years of appointment to the position.
You will have advanced knowledge in Personnel Security leading a team of Personnel Security Specialists ensuring access to classified information is limited to appropriately cleared personnel with a valid need-to-know.
You will manage the processing, verification, and approval of SAAR-N forms via the SWAT Tool.
You will obtain and maintain a Defense Information for Security (DISS) account, National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) account, Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) System account, and an NP2 Portal account.
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
NO-04 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Initiate, review, submit and distinguish the difference in requirements for Tier 1,2,3,4,& 5 background investigations to ensure access to classified information is limited to appropriately cleared personnel.
NO-05 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading a team of Personnel Security Specialists and managing NBIS background investigative requests, onboarding requirements for all new hires, and managing the scheduling for badging, and CAC appointments with Access Control.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-11
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
