You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST (PERSEC) in the CORPORATE OPERATIONS (80000) of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.
Duties
You will comply with Executive Order 13526 for the management to ensure access to classified information is limited to appropriately cleared personnel with a valid need-to-know.
You will have knowledge in Personnel Security and are able to obtain and maintain a level 6 account in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) Web Application.
You will obtain and maintain the National Background Investigation Services Agency Portal (eAPP), the Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT), and NP2 Portal for secure communication accounts.
You will coordinate the onboarding requirements for all new hires with the Joint Base Charleston Visitor Control Center for base access.
You will process, verify, and approve SAAR-N forms via the SWAT Tool.
You will initiate, review, submit and distinguish the difference in requirements for Tier 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 background investigations.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to participate in and obtain and maintain a Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification, Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 2 years of appointment to the position
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience with Personnel Security and security systems; ability to initiate, review, submit and distinguish the difference in requirements for Tier level background investigations. Proficient in security programs, procedures and requirements.
