You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Security Department Access Control Office of OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY.
Duties
You will execute and provide program oversight of access control and Badging program in accordance with command, DON and DOD policy and directives.
You will execute personnel security policy and provide program oversight while deploying program support to PACFLT, visiting personnel requiring access to PACLFT restricted areas.
You will use badge operating system to deliver full database listings of all visitors, contractors and government personnel with mission access to PACFLT restricted areas.
You will provides technical oversight of PACFLT badging equipment to ensure systems are operating.
You will ensures all persons receiving a Restricted Area access badge are briefed on Restricted Area safety, access policy and imaging policies.
You will create ad-hoc reports on Access Control system for Security Office personnel and specific reports for use in investigations.
You will develop and implement the Access Control Center (ACC) Standard Operating Procedures and ensures all protocols are followed.
You will resolve questionable or difficult clearance issues and/or access requests with staff HQ sponsor.
You will perform duties as the system administrator for the USPACFLT access control system, the nature of which are constantly evolving as technological solutions develop, manages the installation database and employee user profiles.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector determining eligibility to grant security clearances to access sensitive information in the presence of minor derogatory information in accordance with Personnel and Physical Security rules, policies, procedures, concepts, and operations.
GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector reviewing requests for personnel or facility security clearances to assure that all required information is provided, requesting missing information from the originators, and granting clearances in accordance with Personnel and Physical Security rules, policies, procedures, concepts, and operations.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
GS-07
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
