You will serve as a Supervisory Security Specialist at COMMANDER U.S. PACIFIC FLEET, OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY.

Duties

You will serve as the principal advisor to the Commander, Deputy Commander, Director of Staff, and Senior Intelligence Officer in matters pertaining to the security of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). You will plan, direct, administer, and evaluate the USPACFLT and subordinate command Special Security Programs. You will be directly responsible for supervising, directing, and the training of Special Security professionals, assigned military support staff, and contracted security specialists. You will investigate and analyze a variety of unusual security issues to identify vulnerabilities in security programs that impact mission, personal security of employees, contractors, visitors as well as the potential threat to government assets.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Work requires physical exertion and long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching, crawling and similar activities in confined areas during inspections.
  • The work may regularly involve lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects of 50 pounds or less when delivering or installing security devices.
  • The incumbent must, within one year, obtain the basic level Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) as outlined in DoD 3505. 13.
  • The incumbent is responsible to adhere to certification and training requirement under the Security Professional Education Development (SPED) program. The incumbent must also recertify bi-annually as required.
  • ???????This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: . analyzing, and evaluating the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Special Security programs.
