This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO - Office of the General Council. As a/an Paralegal Specialist, you will be executing assignments of considerable difficulty and responsibility, with an emphasis on complex document reviews, document productions, and e-discovery matters.

Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Advise and assist attorneys on e-discovery case management.
Work closely with and serve as primary liaison between legal team and information technology office with regard to management of technical services related to e-discovery, litigation case management, trial support, and productions to oversight bodies.
Consult with legal teams to identify best practices and establish legally sufficient and cost-effective processes for the identification, preservation, collection, analysis, processing, review, and presentation of paper and electronic discovery materials.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include all of the following:
- Experience managing the use and maintenance of e-discovery technology tools such as NUIX Discover, Autonomy, Encase, and Symantec Clearwell; AND
- Managing document reviews, document productions and electronic discovery (e-discovery) matters; AND
- Advising attorneys or other professionals on e-discovery case management.
For the GS-12, is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include all of the following:
- Experience utilizing e-discovery technology tools such as NUIX Discover, Autonomy, Encase, and Symantec Clearwell; AND
- Completing document reviews, document productions and electronic discovery (e-discovery) matters; AND
- Assisting attorneys or other professionals on e-discovery management.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
