Duties
Recommend initiation or revision of local regulations, supplements, circulars, letters, etc., falling within the purview of the Physical Security
Responsible for performing extensive site-surveys, studies and analysis of installation physical security requirements.
Consult on construction of and plans security systems to control ingress, and egress, as well as anti-sabotage efforts.
Monitor and analysis the viability of the installation physical security programs.
Plan through advice, recommendation and the preparation of implementing plans, programs, and policy documentation.
Conduct detailed formal and informal briefings and classes concerning physical security to all levels in the command.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain the physical security course (7H-3aD/830-ASI H-3) conducted by the USAMPS.
- The duties of the position require Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) approximately 20% of the duty time.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized experience: On year of specialized experience which includes maintain the installation physical security; apply related policies and procedures; and conducting investigations, inspections, and surveys. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or afield which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Security Management (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
