About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Army Field Support Battalion, Fort Bliss, TX.
Duties
Plans, directs, and coordinates the operation of a sound and effective security program throughout the organization.
Monitors progressive levels of physical security measures, identifying needs for potential implementation in response to threats to personnel, information, and critical resources.
Coordinates plans, procedures, and changes in Force Protection Condition level with higher headquarters, tenant organization activities and appropriate agencies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary duty travel of 10% may be required.
- This position is designated as a “Key” position. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization to function effectively.
- This position is designated as Mission Essential.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) applying physical security regulations or directives; 2) developing and directing the procedures for the physical protection of military facilities; and 3) planning and managing an installation Antiterrorism program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
