You will serve as a Director Of Staff For Command, Control, Communications And Cyber in the USINDOPACOM Command, Control, Comms, and Cyber Directorate of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will effectively manage and prioritize the day-to-day activities of the entire directorate by establishing the daily “operations cycle” or “battle rhythm” to ensure staff efficiency, task accomplishment, effectiveness, and cohesion.
You will be responsible for coordinating and/or resolving interdivisional matters to ensure synchronization across divisions.
You will ensure planning and organizing efforts comply with law, regulation, and DoD policy and guidance in coordination with legal.
You will supervise the Security and Administrative managers and are responsible for oversight of these critical programs.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Travel to OCONUS and CONUS may be required for approximately 2-3 times per year and approximately 3-5 days per travel. Official passport may be required.
- You may be required to work shift work.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying advanced principles, concepts, methods, standards, and procedures for developing and interpreting policies, procedures and providing advice to make decisions and give recommendations that significantly influence policies and programs. Examples of specialized experience include some or all of the following; 1) Exercising day-to-day executive oversight of staff operations and actions, ensuring the staff actions are thoroughly coordinated; 2) Providing management oversight of travel programs, and overseeing the process for travel orders and associated claims; 3) Ensuring planning and organizing efforts comply with law, regulation, and policy and guidance in coordination with legal; 4) Assigning work to subordinates based on capabilities, priorities, and difficulty and/or developing performance standards and evaluating subordinate performance.
