About the Position: Works under the direct supervision of the Health System Specialist, Department or Clinic, Womack Army Medical Center, who provides overall guidance and direction for day-to-day tasks.
Duties
Manage the day to day operational functions in a department of a medical facility.
Operate a variety of software systems to maintain a continual accumulation of data for use in reports.
Perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and technical duties in support of management goals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to be a qualified typist. A qualified typist must be able to type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in performing administrative duties related to a medical office or health care administration; utilizing healthcare software systems such as the Composite Health Care System(CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), the Template Analysis Tool, and TRICARE on-line to input and retrieve data; evaluating correspondence for grammatical and/or technical accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
