About the Position: This position serves as an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS/APPSW) for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command. Duties

Provide expert advice and guidance to multi-disciplinary teams to enable effective use of Department of Defense (DoD)-approved application development guidelines. Responsible for the oversight of planning, designing, and implementing new and improved information systems to meet the customer’s needs. Analyze the use and functionality of a variety of applications to determine duplication of capability in order to reduce any duplication of services. Provide technical review and acceptance of proposals received in response to application and database development service procurements.

Requirements

• Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
• This position requires the employee to satisfactorily complete the certification for Information Assurance (IA) Technical within 6 months of employment.

Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS/APPSW): Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical expertise on application development techniques and technologies; assisting customers with data integration and migration efforts; interpreting changes to regulations and requirements to determine the extent of their impact on present systems; and participating in meetings and discussions with managerial and technical stakeholders to discuss, plan, design, maintain or modify information technology strategies and solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
