Duties

Develop policy for the Installation Management Command physical security program. Plan the accomplishment of assigned projects adhering to policies and objectives of the program. Conducts continuing projects, special studies and surveys. Review, interpret and adapt DOD, DA, FORSCOM and TRADOC regulations to meet the demands of security and organizational missions and practices. Responsible for the implementation of policies and development of procedures for the physical protection of IMCOM and tenant activities facilities. Program annual physical security and follow-up surveys and inspections of activities. Administratively supervise conduct of formal investigations, briefs investigating officers, provide guidance and monitors preparation of report; coordinate with other staff elements. Monitor the key control system, mobility badge system and security exchange badge system to insure adequacy and regulatory compliance. Review regulations and directives from higher headquarters and prepares regulations, supplements, SOPs, recommended policies, procedures, plans, programs and goals implementing requirements of higher headquarters. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluate work performance of subordinates, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands; recommend other actions in more serious cases. Interview candidates for positions in the unit; make recommendations for appointment, promotion, or reassignment of such positions. Please limit your resume to 5 pages. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is subject to a one year of supervisory probationary period probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a 1 year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment Drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This is a "Mission Essential" position. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Required to obtain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification within the first 2 two years of employment. This certification is an initiative to establishing a common set of competencies that facilitates professional development and training.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
