About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Operations and Readiness Security Branch, Fort Stewart, GA.
Duties
Monitor procedures for safeguarding, reproduction, transmission, transportation, and destruction of classified and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) material.
Monitor security and administrative processes required during the course of contracts to include security classification specification, release of classified documents, certification of need-to-know, etc.
Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to subordinates on changes to current policies and new policy.
Recommend access and position sensitivity levels for positions and determines security clearance investigations and clearance requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85 Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position requires Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) travel at least 10% or less of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a single-scope background investigation (SBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- This position is designated KEY, meaning it cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission.
- Incumbent of this position has unique, or scarce managerial or technical skills required by the wartime mission and cannot be held by someone in reserve status or with military recall obligations.

Specialized experience is defined as experience in personnel and/or information security to include risk assessment and/or vulnerability test and/ or foreign disclosure.
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
