About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command (Theater), 93rd Signal Brigade, USASIG NETWK ENT Center at Fort Stewart, GA.

Duties

The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical Security, Operations Security (OPSEC), Crime Prevention, Anti-terrorism, and Force Protection. Interprets and develops policy direction for security applications on a regional basis and ensures compliance with established security-related directives. Initiates security clearance investigations for all personnel assigned to the Regional-NEC. Conducts local records checks on personnel requesting clearances. Determines physical security requirements for secure areas, vaults, and classified TOP SECRET and SECRET open storage facilities. Compiles a variety of reports, analyzes results, and identifies trends pertaining to security regulations/guidance. Coordinates clearance access rosters; passes clearances for assigned personnel with travel requirements to appropriate Security Manager(s)/Representatives. Develops awareness briefings, develops training requirements, and conducts classes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Anti-Terrorism Officer level II certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid government driver's license.
  • Subject to 2-hour call back for emergency and/or security related issues.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI) based on an SSBI.

Specialized Experience is defined as: implementing policies, and procedures in two or more multiple security programs such as Operations Security (OPSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Physical Security, and Force Protection. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: SecuritySecurity Program ManagementTechnical Competence Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
