About the Position: Cyber Security Lead for the Army's Data Platform Program You will be part of managing and providing the information technology network and business systems that the U.S. Army need to operate every day. You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) of the Army Data and Analytics Platforms (ARDAP) by providing Agile support services for authorized customers, both in and outside DoD, including government, non-government organizations, domestic and foreign.

Duties

Assess security posture of classified and unclassified Information Systems using a variety of automated tools to identify or actual vulnerabilities. Implement standard operating procedures, software, controls promoting awareness of security issues among management and ensures sound security principles are part of the organizations vision and goals. Study, interpret, and develop guidelines in Cybersecurity when established or standardized system or methods are nonexistent or inadequate. Develop guidance and procedures for implementation of the Information Assurance Program, in accordance with Army Regulation 25-2 . Implement program guidance on procedures, methods, and techniques to protect classified and unclassified material when processed or stored on automated systems. Perform a variety of substantive and comprehensive management tasks to assist in the administration of an effective cybersecurity program.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level II Practitioner in the Acquisition Career Field Engineering and Technical Management within 36 months of entrance on duty.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is required on pre-employment and annually thereafter.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens This IT Specialist position is located in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-03 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS 12 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS 13 grade step 10 in the broadband. Telework Eligibility Statement: This position may be eligible for regular and recurring TELEWORK, including emergency and OPM prescribed unscheduled Telework. Supervisor approval will be required on a case-by-case basis. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To qualify based on your experience, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience your resume must include at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Expert knowledge of both computers and telecommunications systems to assess security posture of classified and unclassified Information Systems; AND 2) Technical knowledge and skill in Automated Information Systems (AIS) and information systems security to ensure the organization follows policies and directives; AND 3) Expert knowledge of a wide ranch of information system security concepts, principles, and practices to plan, direct, and evaluate Army security programs for Automated Information Systems; AND 4) Ability to administer the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for managing users and systems through the Risk Management Framework. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).
