The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Air Mobility Command (AMC) / Mobility Air Forces (MAF) Air Forces Transportation (AFTRANS) technical expert, analyst, and integrator exercising master level knowledge of Logistics Readiness with an emphasis on Logistics Planning and Integration.

Duties
Serves as a senior advisor for Logistics Readiness emphasizing logistics planning, integration, deployment readiness policy, command-level Logistics program management, and Logistics concept development enabling rapid, agile, and resilient Logistics effects and capabilities supporting full spectrum AMC/MAF support to Joint operations.
Serves as a subject matter expert relating to Logistics Readiness planning, deployment readiness, and Logistics concepts process improvement, to include AMC/A4 integrator for development of emerging Logistics concepts to enhance warfighter support, developing emerging USAF, Joint, interagency and multinational Logistics capabilities; leads or represents A4-A4R at Operations Planning Teams (OPTs), programs, and studies involving AMC/MAF, USAF, Joint, and multi-national Logistics, Logistics Readiness, planning, and conceptual issues.
Provides senior advisor subject matter expertise and command-level program management of Support Agreements (SA), Acquisition and Cross Servicing Agreements (ACSA), War Reserve Materiel (WRM) and other Logistics programs as well as Installation Deployment Readiness.
Serves as a senior representative and spokesperson in communicating A4/A4R Logistics programs and project matters.

- The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. May be required to work outside normal duty hours or work overtime.
- Incumbent may be required to support the AMC Commander’s Battle Staff (CBS), Operations Planning Teams (OPTs), Logistics Readiness Cell (LRC), Logistics Operations Cell (LOC), or other contingency support functions.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. (CONTIN.)

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes mastery of knowledge of Logistics Readiness processes related to logistics planning and integration. Recognized functional expert in assessing logistics procedures to perform operations and contingency planning, deployment policy and execution, and logistics program management. Broad working knowledge of Joint and USAF Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) processes, USAF operational employment concepts, USAF Logistics capabilities, distribution, sustainment, and transportation issues affecting AMC/MAF missions and force projection. Ability to influence and persuade experts and senior leaders and management officials regarding command positions dealing with Logistics capabilities, planning, and limitations along with deployment, sustainment, distribution concepts and policy. Expert knowledge of all organizations including DoD, Joint Staff, USTRANSCOM, military Services and Defense Agencies dealing with Logistics planning and integration impacting AMC/MAF particularly those organizations that relate to USAF operational employment concepts, AMC/MAF logistics, logistics plans, transportation, and supply. Ability to lead ad-hoc teams or committee meetings, provides strong command representation at conferences and meetings, and articulates command positions and priorities to perform oversight and coordination over segments of distribution readiness programs. Provides guidance to Division and Directorate relative to logistics planning, integration, and program management.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of logistics planning and integration that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating contingency support, logistics readiness deployment and execution, war reserve materiel management, base/expeditionary support, sustainment, redeployment, mobility bags/small arms weapons, air terminal operations (for non-AMC bases), and logistics command and control.
Knowledge of logistics management information systems necessary for planning and executing deployment operations (e.g., Logistics Module (LOGMOD), Deliberate Crisis Action Planning and Execution Segment (DCAPES), Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES).
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures and ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Skill in analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting logistics readiness factors, and formulating procedural solutions to problems.
Ability to integrate the separate functions in planning or implementing into a consolidated logistics solution and knowledge and ability to apply process improvement techniques and principles to identify problems and generate innovative solutions.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the staff of an organization including special study teams and task forces composed of members from different organizations and commands.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
