You will serve as a SPACE OPERATIONS PLANNER in the Information Environment (IE) Division, Information Warfare (IW) Branch, at Headquarters of MARINE FORCES PACIFIC.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
Duties
You will provide support and advice to senior-level staff executives on all matters pertaining to space operations in support of training, exercises, combat, contingencies, and operations in the MARFORPAC Area of Operations (AO).
You will research and track vulnerabilities and Indications and Warnings (I and W) via intelligence reporting and situational awareness databases to determine full spectrum of threats and potential impact for MARFORPAC and subordinate forces.
You will support USINDOPACOM Operational Capabilities Assessment (OCA) events as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on space operations ISO MEF certification as a Joint Task Force (JTF).
You will coordinate with Critical Infrastructure Protection programs on identifying and protecting U.S. Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR).
You will coordinate / synchronize space operations activities with Combat Operations CTR to determine operational impacts and recommended actions, such as priority of restoration, Continuity of Operations, and mitigating actions for space operations.
You will coordinate with Critical Infrastructure Protection programs on identifying and protecting U.S. Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR).
You will collaborate with various organizations on planning and coordination of space operations with U.S. allies and partners to identify and resolve interoperability issues and facilitating bilateral and multilateral exercises and operations.
Requirements
- Generally, current Federal employees applying to APS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. All qualifications and pay band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and documented in your resume.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing, coordinating and de-conflicting space operations plans and functions in support of training, exercises, contingencies, and operations.
