About the Position: This position is with Public Health - West, Fort Johnson, LA.

Duties

Provides administrative services support to the Branch OIC/NCOIC and other team members. Preparing and processing purchase requests for the branch, government purchase card holder (order supplies and maintain records in accordance with established regulations/procedures). Utilizes various data bases to keep track of the Branch Appropriated Fund budget. Aids travelers in navigating the intricacies of the Defense Travel System. Receives visitors and phone calls. Responsible for maintenance of records and files, utilizes a variety of office automation applications (i.e. computer programs) to manage information and data, and types a wide variety of correspondence, reports, records, documents, etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • A National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background investigation is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using software and hardware to prepare a variety of documents; and providing administrative services such as ordering supplies, submitting work orders, making travel arrangements, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
