About the Position: Serves as the Administrator of Medical Center of Excellence Numbered Courses for the Medical Center of Excellence located Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. The U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence is located in beautiful and historic San Antonio and is within easy commuting distance of desirable neighborhoods and excellent school system
Duties
Controls the administrative aspects of special Army Medical Department training programs.
Monitors obligation rates, prepares monthly reports of fund utilization for program managers.
Prepares and revises portions of Army Regulations and publications pertaining to special medical education and training policies.
Supervises a small staff.
Compiles, presents, and justifies the credit hours for accreditation review by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the employee to meet Financial Management Certification Level III requirements as a condition of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes recommending suggested resourcing levels to be devoted to particular projects; analyzing new and revised medical training initiatives to determine resource requirements; developing and monitoring time lines and implementation plans to ensure appropriate milestones are met; coordinating assignments throughout the budget formulation and execution cycle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
