You will serve as a INTERNATIONAL MILITARY STUDENT SPECIALIST in the MARINE CORPS UNIVERSITY of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Duties
You will perform a wide range of specialist duties to assist the designated military officer assigned to the IMSO billet with the day-to-day administration of the Security Assistance Training Program (SATP) for international military students (IMS).
You will advise on course of action and/or offer recommendations to the International Military Student Officer (IMSO) in dealing with IMS situations involving language, culture, religion, disciplinary action, and other sensitive areas.
You will assist in reviewing program requirements, coordinating schedules, identifying student qualification requirements, monitoring academic progress and reports for all international students in accordance with appropriate DON guidelines.
You will analyze problems in student training, travel, billeting, etc. and determine and recommend solutions.
You will make recommendations for exception to existing policy and procedures as well as prepare correspondence relative to Security Assistance Training Program (SATP).
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Incumbent must complete DoD SCW Basic-level certification courses within one year.
- Incumbent must complete DoD SCW Foundational level certification requirements within one year of entering the SC position. In addition, 40 hours of continuing education (CUE) every two years.
Qualifications
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Administering a training program for International Military Students (IMS) (e.g., reviewing prerequisites, invitational travel orders, academic reports, or related administrative duties); and analyzing issues and applying analytical techniques, such as trend analysis, to recommend solutions to problems affecting a training program.
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with the administration of a training program for International Military Students (IMS) (e.g., assisting with reviewing prerequisites, invitational travel orders, academic reports, or related assistant administrative duties); and applying analytical techniques, such as trend analysis, to help develop solutions to problems affecting a training program.

Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.

Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
