You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Process Control Division, Quality Assurance Department of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.
Duties
You will be responsible for coordinating SUPSHIP and contractor compliance to the Navy's Shipboard Electrical Cableway Program.
You will perform procedure reviews, coordinate independent SUPSHIP surveys, provide in-process inspections, and witness contractor testing and evaluation.
You will review and monitor contractors' systems for qualifying personnel, procedures, equipment, and vendors.
You will provide on-site technical assistance to SUPSHIP Gulf Coast' Project Offices and Departments.
You will maintain the SUPSHIP Gulf Coast Cableway Program by maintaining qualification, testing, and inspection records.
You will perform audits of SUPSHIP branches and project offices.
You will develop lesson plans, conduct training, maintain training records, and assess the availability and validity of external training resources.
You will act as the Command's primary resource for preparing for ship and craft testing and trials by providing leadership, participation, and technical assistance in the conduct and monitoring of advanced ship systems tests and trials.
You will participate in post-trial screening conferences and inspections.
You will review, interpret and apply plans, blueprints, specifications, directives, technical instructions and standards in quality control/assurance and in industrial disciplines associated with ship construction, conversion and repair.
You will communicate orally and in writing with engineers, technicians, ship's officers, Contractor's officials, all SUPSHIP Departments, and other Government officials on a wide variety of subjects including quality, technical and policy.
You will review and audit the Contractor's procedures in the shipbuilding disciplines with skill in recognizing the adequacy or the need for additions or changes.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting quality assurance inspections, assessments, reviews, audits, or surveillance to ensure compliance with established quality controls for the maintenance, modernization, construction, or repair of surface ships or submarines.
