About the Position: This position is located at the Mark Center Building in Alexandria, VA. The Mark Center is the new location for the Washington Headquarters Services of the United States Department of Defense and a number of other DoD agencies. This position is not covered by a bargaining unit.

Duties

Monitor reports, budget sheets, timecards, travel documents, correspondence, etc., to ensure compliance with regulations and standard operating procedures for the office. Prepare and edit reports, research materials and information that explain the views, policies, priorities, and preferences in relation to the assigned Education Branch. Assist in the development of short and long term budget submissions for the office. Maintain control of program expenditures and operating funds, analyses trends, projects allocation requirements and verifies claims for cost reimbursement. Assist in planning, organizing and conducting a wide variety of studies and analyses designed to identify needs, develop justifications, and prepare implementation procedures of educational program requirements. Conduct management studies, surveys and research projects to assess the effectiveness of the assigned Education Branch in meeting established goals and objectives. Provide advisory services on substantive issues of moderate scope and impact of the assigned Education Branch in meeting established goals and objectives. Resolve a variety of conflicts of administrative policies and processes among organizational issues.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
