About the Position: This position is located in US Army Special Operations Command DCS, G-33 Current Operations Fort Liberty, NC
Duties
Responsible for coordinating, validating, planning, resourcing, monitoring, supporting and reporting Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) ordered USASOC operations and deployments globally.
Conduct and participate in the Joint SOF planning, validating, resourcing, and monitoring of all theater specific requirements.
Serves as the Theater Desk coordinator for matters dealing with OCO, JCSEX, JCET, CNT programs, JPAT, MLE, overseas deployments of ARSOF, and support to other Department of Defense (DOD) and Federal government agencies.
Manage the Theater Desk of the Joint Capabilities Requirement Manager (JCRM) and Army Synchronization Tool (AST) databases used for the planning, resourcing and management of 1st SFC (A) CSCs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20 or less % of the time.
- Stress is inherent in the nature of the work. Short-suspense and other time-sensitive actions contribute to heightened demands on the incumbent. Under crisis operations, expanded work hours, Seven-day workweek, and extended duty days may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting theater desk specialists in support of global, special operations, actions and activities; collaborating with high level and subordinate military commands to synchronize planning, mission preparation, deployment, execution and redeployment in support of operations; interpreting and applying authorities, permissions, regulations and directives pertinent to deployed special operations forces programs; developing Warning Orders, Task Orders, Fragmentary Orders and Deployment Orders upon the receipt of Establishing Directives and/or Execution Orders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
