This position is located in a regional office within one of the six (6) regions of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The purpose of the OFCCP is to enforce, for the benefit of job seekers and wage earners, the contractual promise of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity required of those who do business with the Federal Government.
Duties
Major Duties:
This position requires a close and confidential working relationship with the Regional Director as well as the responsibility and oversight of the administrative/customer service functions provided by the district offices throughout the region.
Serves as the Staff Assistant to the Regional Director (RD) and assists with ensuring that the practices and procedures used by support staff, in subordinate offices, are consistent with those of the RD's office.
Ensures administrative/customer service practices and procedures used by district offices are consistent with the viewpoints, policies, and priorities of the RD and the agency as a whole.
Participates in studies of administrative/customer service work processes throughout the district offices to help identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems in the procedures, processes, and workload distribution.
Reviews and recommends changes and guidance with management input on techniques to improve the region's overall administrative services and functions to ensure the customer-based expectations comply with departmental and agency expectations and goals.
Establishes and maintains appropriate document control systems with correspondence of high-level government officials, stakeholders, special projects, commitments, and other subjects of special interest.

Requirements

- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.

Qualifications
You must meet the Basic Requirements listed in the Qualifications section and the Specialized Experience to qualify for Staff Assistant, as described below.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

GS-09: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Experience coordinating travel arrangements to include preparing travel requests and authorizations;
Experience managing calendars in order to make meeting arrangements and resolve meeting conflicts;
Experience responding to inquiries from internal and/or external stakeholders.
And/or
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education that provided the knowledge's, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
And/or
Successful completion of a Master's Degree or equivalent graduate degree such as a LL.B or J.D that provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
GS-11: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Experience coordinating travel arrangements to include preparing travel requests and authorizations;
Experience managing calendars in order to make meeting arrangements and resolve meeting conflicts;
Experience responding to inquiries from internal and/or external stakeholders;
Experience communicating with a variety of personnel in administrative management and support.
And/or
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
And/or
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education that provided the knowledge's, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
And/or
Successful completion of a LL.M that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
And/or
A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in or related to the work of this position and graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.
GS-12: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Experience coordinating travel arrangements to include preparing travel requests and authorizations;
Experience managing calendars in order to make meeting arrangements and resolve meeting conflicts;
Experience responding to inquiries from internal and/or external stakeholders;
Experience communicating with a variety of personnel in administrative management and support;
Experience preparing reports, memos and/or briefing materials and presenting information to management.
Education
