About the Position: Serve as a Supervisory General Supply Specialist for the Training Division of the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Duties

Develop a government property plan which specifies specific methods of supply surveillance and inventories. Conduct inspection of records to ensure proper accountability is maintained for all government property. Conduct inventories and identify excess equipment for transfer or turn-in. Identify critical processes for acquisition through disposition of government property. Ensure equipment portions of contracts are updated and modified when equipment changes occur. Advise higher management and command of any irregularities or misuse of property and recommend appropriate action(s).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle and successfully pass an Army approved defensive driving certification course.
  • An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
  • Incumbent will be required to pass and maintain forklift operator certification.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing and implementing a supply management program; 2) Monitoring requisition and purchase processes; 3) Ensuring proper storage and handling methods are followed; 4) Knowledge of accountability and logistical tracking databases; AND 5) Preparing reports and correspondence as required. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics and Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
