About the Position: This position is located at the U S Army MSCoE, Homeland Defense/ Civil Support Office on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Serve as Logistics Branch Chief responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities in logistics, including inventory management, acquisition, contracting, space management, supply economy, warehouse management, and accountability.
Ensure that work load and project responsibilities are specifically delegated and assigned to subordinate supervisors and employees as appropriate.
Provide advice, counsel, and instructions to subordinates on work and administrative matters. Interview candidates for vacant positions and makes selections assuring full compliance with DA EEO policy and regulations.
Develop, administer, and maintain the annual budget for supplies, equipment, furniture, and equipment repairs for the MSCoE, HD/CSO. Interpret regulations, policies, and procedures governing services provided.
Review unusual requests for equipment, supplies, and services to ensure selection of the best type for the purpose required and for compliance with standards and directives.
Analyze and provide rationale for the disapproval of recommendations for requests of equipment, supplies, and services that are contrary to established policy.
Requirements
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, "Condition of employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program," or a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
- This position requires the employee to be occasionally work under adverse environmental conditions and/or field conditions.
- Employee is required to use all safety equipment and clothing provided by management.
- The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid civilian and military driver's licenses.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, developing, implementing and coordinating a supply management program; monitoring requisition and purchase processes; ensuring proper storage and handling methods are followed; and preparing reports and correspondence as required.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
