You will serve as a Deputy Comptroller in the Finance Department of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.
Duties
You will ensure prompt recording of authorizations, commitments, and obligations in budgetary accounts.
You will record assets, liabilities, and expenses in propriety accounts, ensuring accurate finaincial tracking.
You will monitor the pre-validation and certification processes for payments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
You will manage timely billing of incurred costs to funding documents and ensure prompt matching of associated collections.
You will perform financial analysis of the business operations.
You will formulate and execute governmental budget exhibits.
You will monitor the balances associated with the propriety and budgetary accounts
You will monitor the accounting systems and assure the system is working as designed.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TS/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Financial Management Level 3 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NO-05 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Overseeing budget formulation, budget execution, financial management, cost accounting, data analysis, and audit planning to ensure compliance with DoD policies and regulations, exhibiting strong communication and administrative expertise in financial management.
