Duties
As a Public Health Advisor you will:
Perform expert analysis and prepare intricate, substantive study reports to cover, at a minimum, study approach and methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
Serve as senior level evaluator and conduct complex evaluation studies on one-of-a kind or controversial operating public health programs having far-reaching bureau or department-wide impact.
Formulate national program and project goals, objectives, operating policies, strategic program plans, guidelines, standards, and priorities.
Identify and evaluate information, data requirements, and resources to establish priorities and to maintain capacity to respond to internal and external demands.
Develop and manage budgets and approve funding expenditures.
Serve as liaison and responds to inquiries from staff, partners/collaborators, and the public.
Supervise a small contingency of positions.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing management and operations or technical advice planning, developing, administering, and monitoring of programmatic efforts essential to the accomplishment of public health program goals.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
