About the Position: Responsible for monitoring logistical programs and operations within U.S. Army Alaska (USARAK) and for keeping Division and Aviation Command and supported Battalion Commanders informed about supply and services policies, procedures, plans and programs throughout 11th ABN and U.S. Army Alaska (USARAK).
Duties
Conducts planning and coordination for joint logistical support for units throughout USARAK for contingency operations and for support of Homeland Defense Operations.
Develops and executes long- and short- range plans, programs and operating procedures to ensure accomplishment of the 11th ABN/USARAK Logistical mission with primary emphasis on aviation logistics and sustainment operations.
Responsible for utilizing the Logistics Reporting Program under the Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS, AR 700-138, DA PAM 738-750, DA PAM 738-751).
Identifies Aviation mobilization and deployment issues applicable to mobilization of within-state active duty and reserve components and the reception of mobilized units from outside Alaska.
Serves as Force Modernization Systems Manager (FMSM) for the command, monitoring the total fielding requirements (Logistics, Personnel, Engineering, Budgeting, Training, Security, etc.) for systems scheduled to arrive in Alaska.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary duty (TDY) under Field Duty is required 5% of the time.
- Must pass a preemployment physical and one every two-years thereafter.
- Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical advice to staff members regarding logistical matters pertaining to aviation systems; utilizing logistical guidance to formulate mission plans, transport supplies, equipment and/or other material in the support of exercise and contingency operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
