About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist in the AMCOM Logistics Center. Assures that critical actions are integrated and properly executed to provide a cohesive approach to logistics support requirements. Plans, directs, coordinates, manages, markets, and reviews assigned areas of the logistics program that encompasses the operations and activities related to logistical support provided to the Aviation Program Executive Office/Project and Program Management Offices.
Duties
Coordinate and exercise managerial direction over the integration of new equipment training, fielding, redistribution of items, and disposal for assigned weapon systems during all phases of the life cycle.
Coordinate information, conduct research, analyze the material and integrate into logistics assignment.
Assign, oversee, and view work of team members to include Major Item Distribution Plan and budget for assigned weapon systems.
Visit users of the weapon systems to evaluate logistics support and to provide advice and assistance on logistic problems.
Maintain liaison relationships with other organizations and other agencies as well as industry to review and analyze reports for assigned systems to determine solutions for logistics problems to circumvent potential program issues.
Apply a variety of analytical methods and techniques to unique and complex logistics matters.
Review and analyze report for weapon system to determine solutions to logistics problems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position requires a mobility agreement which requires written consent to comply with management directed permanent change of station movement and/or deployment to support overseas contingency operations in order to meet mission requirements.
- This position is designated as Mission Essential. Employee can be required to remain on duty or report for duty during contingency operations or other emergency situations.
- Commensurate with mission requirements, the incumbent can be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Call back and and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
- Commensurate with mission requirements, the incumbent can be required to work irregular duty hours to include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
- This position requires a valid state Driver's license in one of the 50 U.S. States or possessions to operate vehicles or incumbent must be able to obtain a valid state Driver's License.
- Position meets the requirements for category 1 per DoDI 6205.02, July 23, 2019, and as such, unless otherwise directed, must meet all immunization requirements for identified overseas locations.
- Physical examination is required prior to hiring.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
- This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Specialized Experience: To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Experience supporting major weapons systems at the field or unit level; (2) Experience in deployment, foreign military sales, procurement, maintenance, supply, training, distribution, provisioning, and/or equipment readiness logistic operations or management programs; AND 3) experience resolving major weapon system malfunction/issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
