Duties

You will participate in complex special projects, monitor activities or actions of the organization, and keep senior leadership properly informed of the highest priority items. You will ensure appropriate individuals are aware of actions requiring their attention and follow up to ensure actions are properly completed. You will identify problem areas within the program administration processes, makes recommendations, and assesses, revises policies and procedures to resolve issues. You will find ways to improve quality, timelines and efficiency of program management/administrative work. You will develop and work collectively with management on standard operating procedures (SOP’s), policy, and business rules, as applicable.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret (SCI) security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current SSBI certification.

Qualifications

GS-07- Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experiencemust demonstrate the following: Preparing final reports that include narrative and statistical evaluations, conclusions, and recommendations. Reviewing and evaluating completed memos, correspondence, reports, studies, fact sheets, and information papers for overall quality of the document, appropriate levels of coordination, consistency, logic, soundness of recommendations, and compliance with policy. GS-09- Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Compiling data, identifies facts and potentialities (such as shortcomings and opportunities for improvement), performs a range of qualitative and quantitative analyses, identifying statistical relationship such as correlations and variances, to draw conclusions and devise solutions to issues. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

GS-09: master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

GS-07:1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement
