This position serves as the Operations Officer in an FAA Service Center Region, Office of Policy, International Affairs & Environment (APL), National Engagement and Regional Administration (ARA). The incumbent is responsible for watch-standing and supporting key managers by providing information and carrying out supporting activities involving events and situations concerning the National Airspace System (NAS), regional and national disasters and contingency operations.
Duties
Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a project manager or team leader for large projects/programs/activities.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- Interviews may be conducted.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H, FG/GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is applying comprehensive knowledge of the functions and characteristics of the National Airspace System (NAS) and aviation nomenclature and experience providing communications support, and/or incident response coordination.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Please ensure you answer all questions and follow all instructions carefully.
