The incumbent is recognized as a subject matter expert in community engagement activities. Responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the activities necessary to deliver an effective community outreach program for the Regional Administrator’s (RA) Office. The incumbent independently plans, implements, manages and coordinates all community outreach activities related to aviation issues in assigned areas.
Duties
Applies experience and expert technical knowledge of the National Airspace System (NAS) operations to conduct functional activities for projects/programs that often require the development of new and innovative approaches. Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of strategic objectives. The position’s focus will be on FAA actions that have the potential to lead to noise concerns in their assigned areas, especially new procedures or airport development projects. Maintains consistent engagement and communication with their assigned communities on aircraft noise concerns in accordance with Regional and National policies.

- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience organizing and leading aspects of community outreach activities and experience analyzing issues related to National Airspace System procedures and/or policies.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for experience at the FV-J level.
