You will serve as a Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES) Database Administrator in the Future Operations Division (J35), Operations Directorate (J3), United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will maintain command and functional user permissions to all 5000 series Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDDs).
You will review system access applications for completeness and accuracy and coordinate with Special Security Office to ensure applicants have the necessary clearances.
You will test and evaluate software before it is implemented.
You will serve as a focal point for policy and guidance on all Information Assurance matters by ensuring that the information services/networks are operated, managed, secured, and used in accordance with security policies and procedures.
You will coordinate with the command training working group for training classes and mobile training teams.
You will conduct inventory of classified controlled material.
You will assist in establishing security policies and procedures in support of the J3 Directorate.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Database Administrator work such as: 1.) Serving as an operations database administrator, maintaining functional user accounts and permissions; 2.) Utilizing Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), Global Command and Control System and/or similar Operating Systems in the private or public sector to provide user support and assistance, analyze and resolve user problems, review and determine technical requirements, and maintain related systems, interfaces and networks; 3.) Developing and maintaining Information Assurance policies and requirements.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Database Administrator work such as: 1.) Serving as an operations database administrator, maintaining functional user accounts and permissions; 2.) Aiding in the utilization of Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), Global Command and Control System, and/or similar Operating Systems in the private or public sector to provide user support and assistance, analyze and resolve user problems, review and determine technical requirements, and maintain related systems, interfaces and networks; 3.) Assisting in the development and maintenance of Information Assurance policies and requirements.
