You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (NONSKID) in the FORCE SHIP MAINTENANCE (N43) DEPARTMENT of NAVSURFPAC READSUPGRU.
Duties
You will assign personnel to provide nonskid and deck covering maintenance planning and execution support.
You will ensure that nonskid maintenance accomplished on Surface Ships benefit from quality assurance oversight.
You will assign and perform periodic coating condition surveys, support cost-effective maintenance planning, and ensure that the Program provides nonskid maintenance execution oversight for the entirety of nonskid installations conducted on ships.
You will support investigation of reported coating failure, provide root cause analysis, and recommend preservation process improvements as short and long-term corrective actions.
You will provide technical assistance to surface fleet regarding nonskid maintenance requirements, the interpretation and application of maintenance
directives, application techniques and quality control/assurance methods.
You will perform inspections of all types of nonskid and deck coverings on U.S. Navy ships and coordinate development of deck covering maintenance plans.
You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short and long-term goals, priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
You will make changes in work methods, organization of work, or assignment of functions to subordinate positions to improve work-flow and services rendered.
You will be responsible for the quality of the material condition, safety of the surface ships flight decks and aircraft performance.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an Association of Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Senior Certified Coatings Inspection Certification (formerly NACE CIP Level 3).
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing nonskid quality control program objectives by evaluating inspection reports or surveillances to develop and implement nonskid training and maintenance planning strategies ensuring that installed deck coatings meet compliance standards for ship safety.
