You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the Quality Assurance (QA) Department (Code 130), Depot Level Quality Assurance (Code 131/132) of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will review workload and technical demands to adjust personnel assignments. You will plan and oversee implementation of training programs to develop and maintain capability in procedures and modifications. You will evaluate employee performance related to the quality of work processes and products. You will directly supervise personnel who are responsible for review of technical work documents. You will be responsible for the review and approval of contractor submitted Process Control Procedures. You will analyze data, develop metrics, determine feasible and best alternatives, and make viable recommendations for high-risk areas. You will participate and lead in team investigations into urgent or complex problems. You will develop and maintain command and departmental instructions for all processes related to quality assurance.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, managing and implementing surveillance of contractors' adherence to ship repair contractual quality requirements and verifying corrective and preventative actions for quality deficiencies.
