You will serve as an INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Nucleat Material Support Branch (Code 2305.2) of the Nuclear Material Management Division (Code 2305) with in the Nuclear Enginmeering and PLanning Department (Code 2300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will be responsible for receiving material from various sources and initiating action to ensure material is inspected, tested, and certified as acceptable. You will ensure that technical manuals, contracts and certification reports are on hand to facilitate movement of material through the receipt inspection process and expediting material through all stages of inspection, testing, and or repair. You will identify and report defective material trends. You will issue, package, store, ship, and dispose of material.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with nuclear material procedures, related nuclear material control regulations and other material policies. Experience with the inspection levels for nuclear material to determine inspection requirements of material. Experience working with enterprise Business Soultions (EBS), Receipt Inspection Management System (RIMS), SECNET, and Nuclear Job Material Lists (NJML), or similar systems. Experience with security regulations relating to the safeguard and handling of classified information and material. Experience managing programs and fostering an environment that administers all resources in a manner that instills public trust while accomplishing the mission. Experience monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Experience determining objectives, setting priorities, and ensuring sound management processes. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with nuclear material procedures, related nuclear material control regulations and other material policies. Experience with the inspection levels for nuclear material to determine inspection requirements of material. Experience working with enterprise Business Soultions (EBS), Receipt Inspection Management System (RIMS), SECNET, and Nuclear Job Material Lists (NJML), or similar systems. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

LL.M., if related

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
