Duties
Enter financial data into automated financial accounting system, includes travel, payroll, and charge cards for employees.
Assist managers, supervisors, employees, volunteers and customers with administrative functions and support; answer telephones, greet customers; present administrative training.
Review and perform technical audits of financial transactions. Conduct training. Identify ways to improve administrative processes based on policy limitations. Develop Standard Operation Procedures and training materials.
Purchase supplies and equipment using simplified acquisition procedures through the DOI integrated charge card program.
Serve as collections officer. Prepare appropriate receipts, records, and tracking forms. Reconcile accounts receivable, aging analysis reports, and suspense and unearned accounts.

GS-05:
Experience: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: reception work, timekeeping, travel, filing, and typing correspondence.

Education: Have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study above high school. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college, or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education.
GS-06:
Experience: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: providing customer service to internal and external customers, processing payroll and travel documents, records management, instructing others in administrative procedures, and editing correspondence.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
