You will serve as a SUPERVISORY OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the I Marine Expeditionary Force, Safety Division of I MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.
Duties
You will justify operating expenditures including staffing requirements, interpreting new safety and occupational health legislation, and recommending the adoption or implementation of specific policies and procedures.
You will oversee program activities to assigned to subordinate activities and units, assure that each echelon is participating fully in the programs and evaluate safety requirements proposed for future operational requirements.
You will consult and coordinate with external agency experts in the resolution of difficult hazards and the development of safety guidance and procedures.
You will plan and supervise the activities of the safety office within the broad framework of I MEF polices, goals, objectives, legislation, and Executive orders; develop specific procedural and programmatic guidelines and methodologies.
You will make decisions on work and administrative problems presented by subordinates, advise, counsel or instruct individual staff members on both work and administrative matters.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating a wide range of comprehensive safety programs, determining safety needs and requirements in performing diverse and hazardous operations, organizing and delivering briefings to encourage understanding and acceptance of recommendations to leadership, providing technical safety and occupational health advice and guidance.
