You will serve as a Visual Information Specialist (Print Media) in the Secretary of Navy (SECNAV) of the Department of the Navy.
Duties
You will plan, design, and complete visual information projects, primarily in the form of printed publications, and visual presentations, aimed at communicating abstract concepts.
You will guide the client in determining the most appropriate media, approach, content, design, and reproduction needs based on purpose, subject matter, target audience, and resources.
You will apply knowledge of tools and methods of traditional and computer-based graphics technology to maximize quality, efficiency, and cost effective production methods.
You will meet with supervisor, printing officer and/or clients during the developmental stages of visual presentation projects to help define objectives, recommend solutions, and helps determine the methods and procedures for production.
You will provide expert advice concerning the planning, development and implementation computer graphics and animation for computer based
productions and presentations.
You will develop projects including planning the preparation and use of digital photographs, digital satellite imagery, drawings, and other artwork, charts,
diagrams, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual materials.
You will research and analyze concepts, ideas, and to identify information objectives and decide what type and how many products to be used in order to communicate visually.

Qualifications
GS-11 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing visual information methods and graphic design techniques that accomplish visual information tasks or design projects to create complex computer images from abstract ideas or concepts and integrate these images into the design and production of visual information projects.
Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite, to include InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
GS-12 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing visual arts/media production methods and techniques to provide advice and guidance to Leadership and other visual arts specialists and to develop original designs, concepts or visual styles for information/education/training presentation materials, publications and exhibits or displays for an intended audience.
Experience independently coordinating, planning, and designing visual information products utilizing graphic designing equipment and processes.
Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite, to include InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
