About the Position: Serve as a Brigade Theater Strategic Mobility Planner under the general direction of the Chief of Plans. Responsible for coordinating and preparing contingency plans for strategic deployment, Reception, Staging and Onward movement (RSO) of US Forces throughout their Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Duties
Provide liaison assistance to appropriate Commands in their AOR on matters relating to Strategic Deployment and Reception, Staging, Onward-Movement, and Integration (RSOI) planning.
Develop concepts, plans, policies and procedures governing all strategic deployment of forces and handling of Department of Defense (DoD) interest cargo arriving and departing all ocean terminals throughout the AOR.
Analyze contingency port workload requirements for all ports in AOR and determine and develop military augmentation units for these requirements.
Revise and provide guidance for developing the Mobilization Tables of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) for Transportation Brigade activities.
Advise users of technical software application issues and solicit user input on revising applications such as: GATES, ICODES, TC AIMS, IGC, IBS, IBS-W, lTV RFID, SMS, IRRIS, JWICS, JOPES, PIPELINE ASSET TOOL, CFAST, JFAST, ELIST, iSDDC)
Review theater and USTRANSCOM component commands' transportation plans and make recommendations for modification when appropriate.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position is designated as Emergency Essential. Employee cannot be in the active military Reserve or National Guard as deployments are possible.
- Incumbent may be required to travel up to 25% to perform duties/attend training.
- Incumbent will be required to undergo an initial and annual physical.
- Incumbent will be required to maintain a valid US Passport
- Incumbent may be required to serve a one-year term trial period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating directly with joint and theater service staffs on initiating, developing, and maintaining mobilization, emergency and contingency plans; developing concepts, plans, policies and procedures governing the deployment of forces and handle Department of Defense (DoD) cargo arriving and departing ocean terminals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-12).
