About the Position: Serves as 599th Transportation Brigade (Trans BDE) United States (US) planner for an assigned area of responsibility (AOR). Provides guidance and direct contingency planning for the 599th BDE area of responsibility (AOR), the 599th Trans BDE staff and subordinate Transportation Battalion (Trans BNs).
Duties
Incorporate Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) and Naval Reserve Unit (NRU) support into JCS exercise and contingency operations.
Direct and manage short and long range planning policies and procedures.
Provide guidance and assistance concerning mobilization, emergency and related contingency operations.
Recommend operational service improvements to ensure timely, planning operations for contingency or planned exercise operations.
Develop managerial reports to apprise leadership of ongoing issues of operational concerns
Perform cost and operational analyses to support Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) exercises and contingency operations.
Coordinate with representatives from US Joint and Combined commands and host nations to establish objectives and evaluate capabilities based upon a theater or regional perspective.
Requirements

- Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- This position is designated as Emergency Essential: During a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, may be required to deploy or to perform temporary duty assignments overseas in support of military operations.
- Incumbent may be required to travel up to 25% to perform duties/attend training.
- This position requires the incumbent to undergo an initial and annual physical.
- Incumbent will be required to undergo initial and annual drug testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing strategic mobility planning, preparing and maintaining emergency plans in support of contingency and mobilization missions, serving as planner, coordinator, and executor for mobilization and deployment training actions, and preparing Operations Orders and supplements for real world contingencies and exercises. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Education: Some Federal positions allow for the substitution of education for required specialized experience. For this position you must qualify based on your experience alone.
