About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Cyber Command - 7th Signal Command - 106th Signal Brigade at Fort Cavazos, Texas.
Duties
Manages various administrative processes to ensure efficiency in the directorate structure.
Develops and reviews complex administrative procedures that affect the orderly and efficient flow of work, both within the office and with outside activities.
Analyzes administrative policies, providing clarification on complex guidelines, resolving a variety of conflicts, and makes recommendations to the supervisor.
Performs a variety of secretarial duties in support of the director/deputy director.
Coordinates the flow of correspondence assigned to the Directorate (Front Office), as well as external taskers directed from higher headquarters.
Monitors the Automated Time, Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS) for the SANEC
Maintains directorate sub-hand receipt.
Monitors directorate’s office supply usage/official travel and evaluates trends to assist in prioritizing budget funds for the directorate travel and additional office supply requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Occasional TDY may be required up to 10% of the time.
- The skills of a fully qualified typist are required.
- Overtime may be required.

To qualify at the GG 07 grade level based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by by 1) Performing procedural and administrative work in an office setting; 2) Utilizing office automation tools to manage calendars, schedule meetings, and prepare and edit documents (e.g., correspondence, spreadsheets, graphs, charts, etc.);3) Coordinating meetings and/or conferences including schedules, agenda, and timelines; and 4) Maintaining taskers and due dates to ensure timely response.
GG 09
To qualify at the GG 09 grade level based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) Managing administrative processes to ensure effectiveness in the organization structure, 2) Reviewing correspondence to ensure quality and compliance of guidance and regulations, 3) Coordinating the flow of correspondence and external taskers as well as hand receipts to maintain accountability throughout the organization; 4) Managing the records and processes of time and attendance in accordance with policy and procedures.
In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skills, as appropriate.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
