About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an Operations Officer at the ACS - G3/5/7 in Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Duties
Supervise and execute operations of functional areas including the Current Operations Integration Center, Contingency Command Post, Operations Support, and G3 Aviation, including a Flight Following Facility at Soto Cano Airbase in Honduras.
Supervises directly and indirectly over 50 subordinates, including civilians and military personnel.
Manage and develop various counterdrug resource operations.
Provide and execute fiscal, budgetary, and resource management oversight for multiple funding streams ensuring alignment among directorate priorities.
Develop and recommend actions regarding Counterdrug, Counterterrorism, and Counter Transnational Organized Crime operational and program requirements.
Monitor Aviation Operations, Command Watch organization, and the Contingency and Main Command Posts on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A top-secret security clearance is required.
- This is a Key Position. IAW AR690-11, a Key Position is a Federal position that cannot be vacated during a national emergency without seriously impairing the capability of its parent agency to function effectively.
- This position is designated as Drug Testing Required. Incumbent must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to random drug testing on an unannounced basis. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing IAW DA guidelines.
- TDY travel is required up to 20% of the time.
- Position is emergency essential.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Implement findings from program reviews to develop recommendations to improve on-going multi-faceted operations; 2). Develop operational orders and programs providing instructions to units and personnel regarding accurate missions and task assignments; 3). Coordinate and execute procedures of the operations program to accomplish organizational missions; 4). Develop and execute various counterdrug resource operations to ensure details are documented; and 5). Develop and execute fiscal, budgetary, and resource management procedures for multiple funding streams ensuring priority alignment.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
